Hi norm,
The remote should work no problem with the card out although you are limited how many screens you can access.
The b*v & D*sh uses the same remotes. How new of a model is the new remote you're talking about? You can buy remotes like your original one for probably $10 or so on ebay.

The one I bought is for Bell and it is marked IR3.2. No luck getting it to work. This is on two different dish-301 recievers. I have not had any luck finding an original remote locally. The place that sold me the Bell one said it would work no problem, they wont take it back.

There is a code for the rec and the remote control ... They can use up to 15 different remote codes... If I have say 4 + 3100's I can progam each rec so it will have its own remote.... You can change your remote to match the one in the receiver.

Fixed...when i turn off my aquos LCD tv the remote works perfect on the SAT. TV on and it does not. Did a re-set to factory defaults on the TV and the remote works OK. That means the TV puts out IR ( when set for somthing) that masks the remote signal to the receiver. Just need to find out what setting on the TV is causing this. I realy want to thank everyone for responding to my posts.
