Hello All:
I need help in converting from legacy LNB to DP LNB.Uptil now I dont have any problem in legacy but I just got DVR which require 2 Input Sat.
I have 2 Dish One pointing to 110 and 119 and other one @ 61.5
Problem is with the dish pointing at 61.6. I have DP twin and DP Quard LNBF but the dish pointing to 61.5 is not detecting with DP Swicth 34.
Is that mean I cannot use DP twin or Quard on dish 61.5 or should I get Single Dual DP LNB?
Thanks in advance.

is the new one a d1sh pro plus or just d1sh pro?

Just Dish Pro ..
I tried DP twin and DP quard on 61.5 with no luck but the LNB is fine since same LNB works fine on 110/119..
I am assuming Single DP should work ..right? just wanna confirm before I buy

any dual should work you dont have to buy a dp dual lnb a single dtv dual will work also.
i have changed heads from legacy to DP+ not very hard remove the legacy reconnect to DP+ head as long as you don't move the dish u will be ok. just do a check switch on the ird after u done.

lozer - If I understand correctly you have a DP quad pointing at 110 and 119? And you have a DP dual on your 61.5 sat? you then run 2 wires from the quad to you DP34 and one wire from your 61.5 to DP34? But the IRD will only see 110 and 119 connected to your DP34 switch?
Can you verify that all your LNBs are DP lnbs. The DP lnbs have a large black D!sh Pro printed on the back. They look very similar to legacy LNBs. As you may or may not know if your are using any d!sh pro equipment it all must d!sh pro. If everything is connected correctly try removing your connections to 110 and 119 and put your 61.5 wire into port 1 of the DP34 switch and then check switch. If it works try once again with only 61.5 connected to port 3 and check switch again. If it fails your switch maybe bad.
One other thing if your using a DP34 switch you cannot connect 61.5 to the input on a d!sh pro plus lnb. You must run a single wire to the DP34 switch for each sat for a total of 3 wires. I know you didn't mention a dpp lnb but I wanted to include this just in case. I don't know how familiar you are with DP technology.
I suppose one other problem you could be having is powering all 3 lnbs with a DP34 switch. If you don't have a power inserter I just connect a spare 301 to port one and power it up with nothing in the card slot. As long as you have a green light on the front it is powering your switch. You must use a DP IRD to supply supplemental power as a 2700 or similar will not work with DP technology correctly.
You could also have a bad wire or connection somewhere. I would start by verifying that you have signal coming from each LNB to your DP34 switch. Then make certain that 61.5 will work on wither port 1 and/or 3 of your DP34 switch. If none of these suggestion help post what you tried and we'll try and get you going.
happy testing.

May be I didnt explain properly
Right now I have legacy LNB of both 110/119 and 61.6 which is working ..no problem but I would like to change it to DP (not DP +)
I have one DP Twin and one DP Quard LNB
So I used on both the d*sh point to 110/119 and 61.5 and going thru SW34 but just 110/119 is verified which I run check switch.
I tried to swap the LNB but still same result so I am confident my LNB is fine so I am thinking may dish point tp 61.5 cannot take DP twin or DP Quard.
Even if I get DP plus (for 110/119) still I need working LNB for 61.5.
so my question is if I am doing something technically wrong or I cannot use DP twin or Quard on dish point to 61.5 should I get single LNB DP for it?
Put the DP-Quad on the 119/110 d#$h,because you will have two extra outputs for later on.Put the DP-Twin on the 61.5,cover the 110 side(it's marked) with tin foil, and confirm that you have the sat signal on the 119 side, connect to the #-3 input of the DP-34,then in your box setting for 61.5,use port-3 for the Diseqc setting.

well every thing sounds correct. Just remember with a DP34 you need to run one wire for 110 and one wire for 119 to the DP34 switch and one more wire for 61.5 and everything should be good to go.
Later in your post you said SW34 do you mean DP34? SWxx are legacy switches not d!sh pro switches. But I don't think the SW34 existed only the SW44 and SW64.
The DP twin and quad should work for 61.5 there must be another issues, perhaps a bad or broken wire? Your best bet may be to crawl on the roof with an IRD and tv to check your aim but that can be a pain. If you do I use a laptop with a USB TV capture instead of a TV. Plus that way I have access to my wifi....

Yes I meant DP34 Switch.Wires are good and both LNBs are good too but I didnt tried to cover 110 side with Foil but I think I am planning to sell either twin or Quard LNB and just buy single LNB fo5 61.5. getting up the roof is a pain or me:)
Thanks for your help

I don't think a single will help your issue, if your lnb's are good then there is no reason they won't work. But it's your call. Personally I'd go with a DP dual as they have a few more applications. Best of luck. I'd keep the quad if nothing else.
