welcome aboard!
to enable pm's, click on 'user CP' at the top left, then click on 'edit options', then you will see all your options for email & pm's etc. scroll down and make sure the box is checked beside 'enable private messaging' and you will be good to go.:Banane08:

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I used mess with D*V until the P4/P5 switch. Anyway I got away from it for a while and don't know much about what's been going on. Can anyone help me out. I know there is no fix for D*V but I'd like to get into testing D*SH. What do I need to get? Where can I find it (safely)? How do I get started? I know nothing of D*SH. All I needed before was my Mikobu III and a good 3M. Is D*SH as simple or is it more complicated? Thanks to any who are willing to help me out.

Welcome mrdssjoe, I would recommend FTA check out this post of mine when I switched to FTA http://www.extremetesting.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=1995, then do some FTA reading, lots of good reading here...make up your mind which way you want to test and we will help you get up and running.

thanks but I don't understand a thing about FTA and I have more access to D*SH and D*V recievers and everything else. I think it would be easier for me to get into testing D*SH if I just had someone to help me out with telling me what I needed to get to get started and where I can get the files. Is D*SH simillar to D*V as far as files go? I mean are they like 3M's?

k
for plastic...you have to have a receiver you can Jtag...( read box keys and receiver information ) so you read and write to the receiver...that goes for any type of card
then you need a ISO programmer for Dish
and a was to unlock the card...a 102 or 103 card...that will take a unlocker like a nexus
and you have to make sure your card is not over rev 8, rev 3 is the best for a 102 card
then a dish a dish 500 with a legacy is the best way to go...but if you find a Dish/Pro receiver you can also use a D/P dish 500
or the cheapest way to go is a viewsat receiver..lite is ok..same as a platimum..but without the card holder....it is a FTA receiver..look for a dealer that is a real dealer than a clone dealer
just check the viewsat site and they list them all

FTA is d*sh, its very easy, if you want to get into plastic you need a unlocker and iso programmer plus a 102 card... its going to cost a lot more than buying a FTA receiver, and you don't have to worry about looping a card, you could try emu. the choice is yours. I lot of ppl here test with FTA... to me its the easiest way to get started, you can buy a FTA ird and be up for less than $150.
