read this on the scrolling banner at another site today... IF this does play out, are these cards no more useful than a rom102? not sure if it's ok to post the site addy or not.
(C&P)
The ROM S01 and S02 cards are hacked. It is possible the hack will become public and available. It requires ex-sub ROMS01 and S02 cards at revs 602/802.

Those cards are being replaced also so I don't see how that would help anything.

There is a script posted here that will dump 12kb of the s01 card. Now this will not help the average tester but it does work for b*v s01 rev 640 and d*sh s01 dsh602.

It does not write anything to the card and it does not unlock the card but if you got a hexeditor you read the 12kb of dataspace that you dumped.

Something may or may not become public yet but don't count on it. Of course now that the dumper is public some of the junior coders may release some freeware to manipulate the cards. We'll just have to wait and see but if it is in the public then rest assured we'll have information on it here at ET :)

happy testing.

I dont think there was or is anything for s01/s02. Think about it. At this point, they are practically useless anyway. They go public and what.. we get TV for 2, maybe 3 months.

Word around the water cooler is the new N3 cards sport a lot of the same security features as the s01/s02 cards. They proved reliable and so they were used as a blueprint for the new ones. My theory is that if these cards are indeed hacked, they wont be made public because they will hopefully come in handy for breaking into the n3 cards.

yeah there is a file for s01 card the thing its not a full dump of the card ...it s the tier part ... also there is no soft to read write to it and this card is suppose to be write protected so .....write=loop ....... i dont think it ll go ferther than that .... for those card

Not sure whey the dumper was released. It serves no purpose. As per the previous comments, S0 cards are being replaced and hopefully the coders are working on the new N3 cards.

The dumper was not released it was leaked.

two it is valuable as a teaching tool for those that want to learn how to get into high rev cards. Plus with a few mods I hear that the dumper script can be used to get the full eeprom.

Sometimes it is about learning how to test and not just free TV.

I still want to open my few S02's anyways just for grins ! Isn't that what this is all about anyways ? Curiosity is a good thing and should never be suppressed or stunted.

Not totally correct, the codespace has a checksum calculation so if you modify the codespace with a blocker the IRD / cards knows right away and it won't work. But you can write to dataspace to update tiers, expiry dates, and probably ird# and boxkeys to marry the card to another receiver.

i didnt knew that good news ...
i hear about poeple update tier .. but thing is ... for b3v its worthless .. for d*sh not for long ... anyway ... im not a coder so i read lots of things on assembly language and in maybe a year i ll be able to dig more in to this :P
