Hi i have a viewsat 9000hd with the adapter for d*sh hd channels.Ok i scanned both birds and i only have a few hd channels from 110 som ppv sci fi espn etc(no locals like cbs nbc abc etc anywhere). It seems 119 has locals but i can`t get any hd programming from 119 ?? is that correct? I know most are on 129 i tried twice to get that bird no luck as of yet. Will i just give up on the 119 hd channels? I live in Nova Scotia is it possible that i cant get the hd channels on 119 and not many on 110? Am I doing somethig wrong?? I just left the default settings on the channels scan transponders.installed the latest sat file also.Any help or info would be great. Thanks Guys

You either need to pick up 129 or 61.5.

I know about 129 sat i have totry and find it its harder to locate.I have no problem getting 119 or 110.It`s just that when you go to lyngsat for channel lists for hd channels it shows some on 119 and i have none when i scan that bird.I have some on 110 and yes the viewsat hd picks the mpeg4 channels.

according to lyngsat 119 has only 1 HD channels on the central plain spot beam so you likely can't get that one from your location.
The bulk of the HD you see listed on lyngsat for 119 are actually on 118.7 which requires a special lnb. Anything listed on TP 12224 and above is 119. Anything listed on TP 11715~12155 is on sat 118.7 and will require a d*sh 500 plus or d*sh 1000 plus to be received using d*sh irds or a special FTA lnb capable of both 119 and 118.7.
110 has some HD that is conus and some that is spotbeams so you won't get all those channels either.
129 is for the western part of the country and 61.5 is for the eastern part of the country to get HD.
118.7 is mostly international channels but it does have some HD locals as well.

First I will say sorry for resurrecting an old post.
Is it safe to assume that 129 and 61.5 are the same programming?
I understand that both have HD channels however are they different or the same?
If you where located centrally would you want to put up dishes for both or just the one that has the best reception?

I do believe that 61.5 is just a mirror of 129 for most channels. There are some different locals but 61.5 is for the eastern arc and 129 is for the western arc. You can check lyngsat.com to be certain. But I think you can use which ever one you get the best and go from there.
