No signal quality

Hi,

Having problems with signal quality. On b*ll expressvu on 91.0w. The original

problem was with a oribal Legacy dual lnb, was that he was getting either the odd

or even channels and not both. Since then we had changed the lnb and then getting

both odd and even channels. Then he decided to move the d*sh off the facia and

move it down on a metal post about 8 inches, with the replaced lnb and everything

seemed to be working fine for s & Q. Now the quality is down from 76% to about 43%

with out any changes. We set the d*sh up plumb and used a fs1 signal meter and got

a locked signal on Tp 11, which is recommended by the provider.

So now with the Q at 43%, would interference come with the metal post, or the

metal cap on a flat roof, of which the origial position of the d*sh was above the

metal cap was working fine.

Maybe corroded connections would hinder quality, some kind of interference?

Also had to pull the smart card out and install again, then everything was fine

again. Tried it again, and did not make a difference. Maybe the smart card is not

working properly??

signal on tp 11 frequency 12370, symbol rate 20000, right hand polarity

Any help would be appreciated.

corroded connections would be my guess. i used pure silicone (non hardening type) in all connection areas.
